Simple Salmon Ochazuke (Green Tea Rice)
Easy Salmon Ochazuke in 3 Steps: Perfect for Soothing Your Stomach or a Quick Breakfast
This recipe combines the comforting flavors of ochazuke with savory salmon, born from a love for both. It’s a simple yet deeply satisfying dish.
Ingredients- A little cooking oil
- 100g salmon fillet
- 1 green tea bag
- 1 tbsp mentsuyu (or soy sauce)
- 1 sachet furikake (rice seasoning)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Lightly coat a frying pan with cooking oil. Place the salmon fillet in the pan and cook on both sides until the color changes. Avoid overcooking until crispy; a gentle cook will result in a tender texture, but feel free to adjust to your preference.
Step 2
Prepare the green tea base by steeping 1 green tea bag in about 1 cup (200ml) of hot water for at least 5 minutes. This will create a flavorful green tea broth that complements the salmon.
Step 3
Place warm cooked rice in a bowl. Pour the steeped green tea and 1 tablespoon of mentsuyu (or soy sauce) over the rice and mix gently. Arrange the cooked salmon pieces on top. Finally, sprinkle with furikake for an extra burst of flavor and texture. Your simple and delicious Salmon Ochazuke is ready!
