Simple Ice Cream Bingsu
Let’s Make a Super Simple Ice Cream Bingsu Dessert! (feat. Nuts)
When the summer heat hits and you’re craving a refreshing dessert, Bingsu is always a fantastic choice! Today, I’m sharing a recipe for an incredibly easy ice cream bingsu. Make the most of that Tub-o-Butter (or your favorite large tub of ice cream) that might be in your freezer. Its generous size means you can enjoy plenty of deliciousness. Adding crunchy nuts as a topping makes it even more satisfying and flavorful.
Ice Cream Bingsu- 1 tub of Tub-o-Butter ice cream (or similar large tub)
- 4-5 stick cookies
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, peanuts, etc.)
- 1 cup milk or water (for icy texture)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare some dried banana chips to add a touch of sweetness to your bingsu. Banana chips pair exceptionally well with ice cream bingsu, so we highly recommend using a generous amount! (This is optional, but definitely give it a try!)
Step 2
Place your nuts in a zip-top bag and gently crush them using a rolling pin to a coarse consistency. It’s best not to grind them too finely; you want a bit of texture to chew on. (You can also use a knife or a food processor.)
Step 3
Scoop generous portions of the Tub-o-Butter ice cream into a wide bingsu bowl or a regular bowl. You can adjust the amount of ice cream according to your preference.
Step 4
Sprinkle the crushed nuts evenly over the ice cream. Mixing different types of nuts will enhance the nutty flavor and overall aroma.
Step 5
Finally, insert the stick cookies into the bingsu as a garnish. For an extra frosty experience, you can surround the bingsu with thinly shaved ice made by freezing milk or water. (Next time, try adding a pinch of salt and mixing it with the water/milk before freezing to create a more authentic shaved ice texture!)
