Simple & Healthy Greek Yogurt Baguette Open Sandwiches
[Healthy Meal Prep] Homemade Greek Yogurt & Baguette Open Sandwiches
Enjoy a simple yet delicious open sandwich using homemade Greek yogurt! This recipe utilizes fresh Greek yogurt, cultured from Tibetan mushrooms and kefir grains, which offers a richer texture after whey separation compared to store-bought versions. Elevate your snack or light meal with fresh fruits and homemade yuzu jam for a delightful burst of flavor. Perfect for a healthy diet and a satisfying treat.
Ingredients- 3 slices Baguette
- 2 Tbsp Homemade Greek Yogurt (whey drained)
- 3 Fresh Strawberries
- 3 tsp Homemade Yuzu Jam
- A little Olive Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your homemade Greek yogurt, ensuring the whey has been thoroughly drained for a thick, creamy consistency. (Separate preparation instructions not included here).
Step 2
Place 3 slices of frozen baguette directly into the air fryer. Toast at 200°C (392°F) for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Step 3
Generously spread the prepared Greek yogurt onto two of the toasted baguette slices. For the remaining slice, first spread a thin layer of your homemade yuzu jam, then top with Greek yogurt. (Tip: For homemade yuzu jam, blend deseeded yuzu pulp and peel, then simmer with sugar until thickened for an intense citrus flavor).
Step 4
Artfully arrange thinly sliced fresh strawberries on top of the yogurt. You can also add some finely chopped strawberries for extra texture and color. Drizzle lightly with olive oil, if desired, to finish.
