Introducing a special Yakisoba recipe using fresh, HACCP-certified fish cakes and a sweet, savory corn sauce. Made with canned corn and instant noodles, it’s incredibly easy for anyone to prepare quickly. The fantastic combination of savory fish cakes and creamy corn sauce will captivate everyone’s taste buds, young and old! It’s perfect for special occasions or as a simple yet delicious meal.
Main Ingredients
- 1 pack HACCP certified fish cakes
- 1 can corn (undrained)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of chili oil
- 1 clove garlic (thinly sliced)
- 1 pack instant soy sauce ramen
- 2-3 drops sesame oil
- A little cooking oil
- 1/5 stalk green onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 handful bonito flakes (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare fresh fish cakes that are HACCP certified. HACCP is a mark that guarantees food safety, so feel free to use them with confidence!
Step 2
Cut the fish cakes into bite-sized pieces. You can cut them larger, or smaller for a fried rice-like experience.
Step 3
Thinly slice the green onion. The fresh aroma of the green onion will enhance the flavor of the Yakisoba.
Step 4
Take about half to one can of corn, and without draining the liquid, place it in a blender. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to it.
Step 5
Blend until smooth, with no corn kernels remaining, to create the ‘Simple Corn Sauce’. The natural sweetness of the corn combined with the richness of butter is truly delicious!
Step 6
For the Yakisoba noodles, we’ll use instant soy sauce ramen. (I used a product purchased from GS25.)
Step 7
Instead of using the cup for the ramen, boil the noodles and the flavor packet in a pot for about 1 minute. It’s important not to overcook the noodles.
Step 8
Drain the cooked noodles thoroughly in a colander. If there’s remaining water, the Yakisoba can become soggy when stir-fried.
Step 9
Preheat your pan or griddle well before stir-frying. A hot pan is the secret to perfectly cooked ingredients.
Step 10
Thinly slice 1 clove of garlic. Using sliced garlic will bring out a richer flavor.
Step 11
Pour chili oil into the heated pan and let it heat up a bit more. The mild spiciness of the chili oil cuts through richness and adds depth of flavor.
Step 12
Once the oil is hot enough, add the sliced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic by controlling the heat.
Step 13
When the garlic aroma starts to rise, add the prepared fish cakes and stir-fry together. Cook until the fish cakes absorb the garlic and oil flavors.
Step 14
Season the fish cakes with black pepper as they cook. The pungent aroma of pepper enhances the taste of the fish cakes.
Step 15
Nowadays, many pepper products also have the HACCP mark, so you can use them with peace of mind. (laughs)
Step 16
To the stir-fried fish cakes, add the drained ramen noodles and about one paper cup of water. This will create a light sauce for the noodles and ingredients to mingle.
Step 17
Add all of the soy sauce ramen seasoning packet that came with the cup noodles. The ramen seasoning provides the savory base for the Yakisoba.
Step 18
Finally, drizzle in 2-3 drops of sesame oil. The nutty aroma of sesame oil will further enrich the overall flavor.
Step 19
And there you have it – your delicious ‘Simple Fish Cake Yakisoba’ is complete! You can enjoy a wonderful meal right at home.
Step 20
If you have a separate griddle, lightly heat and coat it with cooking oil before serving. This will keep the Yakisoba warm longer and make it look more appealing.
Step 21
Transfer the finished Yakisoba onto the preheated griddle. The sizzling sound will stimulate your appetite.
Step 22
Generously spoon the prepared ‘Corn Sauce’ over the Yakisoba. Then, top with the sliced green onions. If desired, sprinkle with bonito flakes for an extra boost of umami and flavor!
Step 23
Mix the corn sauce and Yakisoba well and enjoy! The combination of fish cakes, noodles, and the savory corn sauce is fantastic.
