Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium potato
  • 1 Korean green pepper (or bell pepper)
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash and prepare the potato and Korean green pepper. Peel the potato, and remove the stem from the pepper. Slice both ingredients thinly into matchsticks. Slicing them thinly will help them cook faster.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Add the chopped green onions and sauté them gently to create scallion-infused oil. This step is about extracting the fragrant aroma from the scallions and infusing it into the oil. Be careful not to burn the scallions while releasing their wonderful scent.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the scallion aroma is noticeable, turn the heat up to medium. Add all the sliced potatoes to the pan. Stir gently with a spatula to prevent sticking, and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes. Cook until the potatoes become slightly translucent and start to soften. Keep an eye out for any signs of burning.

Step 3

Step 4

When the potatoes are almost cooked through (they should be easily pierced with a fork), add the sliced Korean green pepper. Stir-fry quickly for about 30 seconds. Peppers can become soggy if overcooked, so it’s important to maintain their crispness.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, season the pan-fried potatoes with a pinch of salt to your liking. Add salt a little at a time, tasting as you go, until it reaches your desired flavor. Once seasoned perfectly, turn off the heat. Your delicious pan-fried potatoes are ready to be enjoyed with a warm bowl of rice!
