Recipe Ingredients
- 3 Morning Buns
- 1 stick (approx. 30-40g) Salted Butter
- 2 pinches Salt (for topping)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your morning buns. First, use a serrated knife to slice each morning bun in half horizontally, separating the top from the bottom.
Step 2
Make a cross-shaped cut on the bottom half of the bun. This will help the butter penetrate the inside and ensure a crispier texture after baking.
Step 3
Introducing the star ingredient: butter! ‘La Conviette’ salted butter is celebrated for its exceptional flavor, often called the ‘Hermès of butter.’ Its delightful saltiness and deep buttery aroma are a perfect match for the morning buns. If you don’t have this specific brand, any high-quality salted butter with a rich flavor will work wonderfully.
Step 4
Melt the butter. Microwave it for about 20 seconds until softened and melted. Be careful not to overheat it. Generously brush the melted butter all over the outer surfaces of the sliced morning buns, including the top and sides. This ensures maximum flavor distribution.
Step 5
Sprinkle with salt. Coarse sea salt is ideal, but regular table salt will also work. Sprinkle about two pinches of salt over the buttered surfaces of the buns. The saltiness will beautifully enhance the richness of the butter.
Step 6
Time to bake! Place the prepared buns in your preheated air fryer set at 180°C (350°F). Bake for approximately 7 minutes, or until golden brown and toasted. Keep an eye on them, as baking times can vary. Once they’re golden on the outside and warm and soft inside, they are ready to enjoy!
