Quick & Easy Bean Sprout Bibimbap for a Busy Day!
When you don’t feel like preparing side dishes, solve your meal with a bowl of bean sprout bibimbap. This spicy and flavorful bibimbap has a clean taste that will stimulate your appetite.
Main Ingredients- 1 plate of seasoned bean sprouts (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, take out the seasoned bean sprouts you’ve prepared from the refrigerator. Using store-bought seasoned bean sprouts makes it even quicker! If you’re making them yourself, blanch the bean sprouts, rinse them in cold water, and season lightly with soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and salt.
Step 2
Prepare a sunny-side-up fried egg. The runny yolk will mix beautifully with the rice and bean sprouts, making it extra savory and delicious. You can also cook it to your preference (over-hard is fine too!). Lightly oil a frying pan, crack the egg into it, and cook until the whites are set.
Step 3
Prepare a bowl of warm rice. About half a bowl per person is usually sufficient for one serving. Avoid using too much rice, as it can overpower the flavors of the other ingredients. Just fill the bowl moderately.
Step 4
Generously top the warm rice with the seasoned bean sprouts. The crunchy texture of the bean sprouts will add wonderful flavor to your bibimbap. It’s best to use bean sprouts that aren’t seasoned too salty.
Step 5
Now, it’s time to add the delicious sauce! Place 1 tablespoon of gochujang and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil attractively on top of the bean sprouts. If you prefer it spicier, feel free to add a little more gochujang. You can also substitute sesame oil with perilla oil for a different aromatic flavor.
Step 6
Finally, carefully place the sunny-side-up fried egg on top of the bean sprouts. This completes the visually appealing bean sprout bibimbap!
Step 7
All the ingredients are now ready! Use your spoon to thoroughly mix the rice, bean sprouts, egg yolk, and sauces. Enjoy your delicious bibimbap! The combination of spicy gochujang, savory sesame oil, and crisp bean sprouts creates a mouthwatering flavor.
