Easy Potato Noodles Recipe for Beginners
Perfect for tonight’s side dish! Introducing a recipe for potato noodles that is incredibly easy to make and loved by everyone, combining the sweetness of potatoes with the crispness of carrots. It’s a fantastic side dish for rice or a lunchbox staple!
Main Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1/3 medium carrot
- 2-3 Tbsp cooking oil (for sautéing)
Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- Pinch of black pepper (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 2 medium potatoes and 1/3 medium carrot. Peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly. Peel the carrot as well. Using a knife or a julienne peeler, thinly slice both the potatoes and carrot into fine strips of similar length. Rinsing the julienned potatoes in water once can help remove excess starch, preventing them from sticking together and resulting in a fluffier dish. Drain the julienned carrots and potatoes well before proceeding.
Step 2
Heat 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the julienned potatoes first and begin to sauté. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the potatoes start to turn translucent and their edges are lightly golden.
Step 3
Once the potatoes are partially cooked, add the julienned carrots and sauté together. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the carrots are tender-crisp. It’s best to cook them so they retain a slight crunch. Finally, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and stir well to season. A pinch of black pepper can be added for extra flavor, if desired.
Step 4
Once all ingredients are cooked and seasoned to perfection, turn off the heat and the dish is complete. Serve hot for a delicious Sautéed Potato Noodles experience. You can also add a drizzle of sesame oil and mix before serving for an extra touch of flavor!
