Simple and Delicious Pan-Fried Potatoes: A Must-Have Home-Style Dish
Easy Pan-Fried Potatoes Recipe (Forgive the Messy Presentation!)
This is my very first recipe upload! I’m not sure if anyone will see it, but I hope you enjoy this simple dish.
Main Ingredients- 2 small potatoes
Seasoning- A pinch of salt
- A little black pepper (optional)
- A pinch of salt
- A little black pepper (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash the potatoes under running water. It’s important to scrub them well to remove any dirt or debris.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes. A helpful tip: use the curved edge on your peeler to easily remove the potato ‘eyes’ or indentations. Be careful and focus on peeling safely.
Step 3
Now, slice the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. To prevent them from falling apart too easily, aim for about 0.5 cm (or 1/4 inch) thickness. Slice carefully to avoid cutting yourself. After slicing, you can rinse the potato pieces under cold water to remove excess starch, which helps prevent sticking when frying.
Step 4
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the sliced potatoes and stir-fry until they are lightly golden brown and tender. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking together as they cook. You can check if the potatoes are cooked through by piercing them with a fork or skewer.
Step 5
Once the potatoes are cooked, season them with salt to taste. Black pepper is optional; add it if you like. Be mindful not to add too much pepper, as it can overpower the natural sweetness of the potatoes. Just a little will enhance the flavor.
Step 6
Your delicious pan-fried potatoes are ready! I feel like I might have added a bit too much pepper this time, but I hope you all enjoy it immensely. It’s a perfect side dish for a warm bowl of rice!
