Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack of silken tofu (use only the tofu, without excess water)
  • 1 stalk of green onion (mainly the white parts)

Golden Seasoning Sauce

  • 5 Tbsp soy sauce (regular or dark)
  • 1 Tbsp minced green onion
  • 1 Tbsp minced onion
  • 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic (approx. 1/2 tsp)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp plum extract (maesilcheong)
  • 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil (approx. 1/2 tsp)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully place 1 pack of silken tofu, drained of excess water, into a pot. Handle the delicate tofu gently to prevent it from breaking.

Step 1

Step 2

While the tofu is cooking, prepare the green onion. Wash 1 stalk thoroughly and finely chop it, focusing on the white parts for a milder flavor and aroma. This will add a fresh fragrance to the dish.

Step 2

Step 3

Similarly, wash and finely mince the onion. The onion’s natural sweetness and rich aroma will enhance the depth of the seasoning sauce.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, let’s make the delicious seasoning sauce! In a bowl, combine 5 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp minced green onion, 1 Tbsp minced onion, 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 tsp sugar, a pinch of toasted sesame seeds, 2 Tbsp plum extract, and 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined. Using a tablespoon for measurement will make this process easier. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are fully integrated.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the silken tofu in the pot comes to a rolling boil, add the pre-chopped green onions. The refreshing scent of the green onions will spread as they hit the hot tofu.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, artfully drizzle the homemade seasoning sauce over the hot tofu and mix gently before enjoying! Served with a bowl of warm rice, this makes a perfect and satisfying meal. Savor the wonderful harmony of soft silken tofu and the savory, flavorful sauce!
