Main Ingredients- 1 pack Cheongpomuk (Silken Tofu Jelly, approx. 300-400g)
- A small amount of Green Onion (white parts preferred)
- 2 sheets Seasoned Seaweed (Gim)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Today, I’ll be sharing a delicious Cheongpomuk Muchim recipe that I learned from my mother. It’s easy for anyone to follow!
Step 2
Gently rinse the cheongpomuk under cold running water and pat it dry. Then, slice it lengthwise into bite-sized pieces. Using a decorative knife will make it look prettier, but a regular knife works fine too. Aim for slices about 0.7-1cm thick. (Tip: Slicing too thinly can cause it to break apart, so maintain a moderate thickness.)
Step 3
Place all the sliced cheongpomuk into a large bowl. Cheongpomuk is very delicate, so handle it with care.
Step 4
First, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the cheongpomuk and gently toss it to coat. This helps prevent the pieces from sticking together and maintains their soft texture.
Step 5
Finely chop the white parts of the green onion. You can also add 1/2 tsp of minced garlic if you like. Add the prepared green onion, 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds, a pinch of salt (adjust to your taste), and a pinch of ground black pepper. Gently mix everything together until well combined. (Tip: Mix gently to avoid breaking the cheongpomuk.)
Step 6
Tear or thinly slice the 2 sheets of seasoned seaweed lengthwise and sprinkle them over the cheongpomuk salad as a garnish. The salty and savory flavor of the seaweed adds another delicious layer.
Step 7
Once all the ingredients are evenly mixed, your delicious Cheongpomuk Muchim is ready! It has a lovely sheen and tastes wonderful. Enjoy it as a satisfying meal with warm rice or as a delightful side dish.
