Signature Black Latte: The Visually Stunning Drink Recipe
Create a Captivating Black Latte at Home, Just Like Your Favorite Cafe
When I first saw the signature Black Latte from a famous cafe in Seongsu-dong, I thought, ‘What is this?’ But the way it slowly spread like ink on blotting paper was so alluring that I ended up making it myself! The beautiful black gradation effect created as it slowly descends and submerges into the milk is truly captivating. Surprisingly, the taste isn’t particularly unique; it’s similar to mixing milk with jelly powder or a chocolate-based drink. For a Black Latte, the visual appeal is far more important than the taste! I wonder what coffee drinks will be a hit this summer!
Coffee & Base Ingredients- 1 shot strongly brewed espresso
- 15g fresh milk
- 10g sweetened condensed milk
- 10g cocoa powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
✨ First, gather all the ingredients needed to make the Black Latte. Brew your espresso fresh, and measure out the milk, condensed milk, cocoa powder, and dark cocoa powder. Make sure to have plenty of ice ready.
Step 2
☕️ If using a blender, combine the prepared espresso, milk, condensed milk, cocoa powder, and dark cocoa powder in the blender. Blend until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency. If you don’t have a blender, you can use a whisk or a hand mixer to whip the mixture until it’s rich and frothy. You’ll notice a deep chocolate aroma as you mix.
Step 3
🧊 Now, prepare a clear glass for your drink. Fill the glass with about 6-7 ice cubes. Then, pour in the fresh milk until it fills more than half of the glass. Pouring the milk first will help create a beautiful layered effect with the black cream.
Step 4
🖤 Finally, slowly and carefully pour the rich, creamy black mixture you made in step 1 over the milk in the glass. Pouring gently, perhaps using a spoon or over the edge of the glass, will create a stunning black gradient effect, much like ink spreading. Enjoy this visually delightful and delicious drink!
