  • Cooking : Seasoned mix
  • Servings : 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Crown Daisy
  • Green Onion (chopped)

Seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

For Blanching Crown Daisy

  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt
  • Water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the crown daisy. It might seem like a lot initially, but it reduces in volume after blanching.

Step 1

Step 2

Trim the crown daisy. The tougher stems can be chewy in the finished dish, so remove them along with any yellowing leaves.

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the trimmed crown daisy thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris.

Step 3

Step 4

Bring water to a boil in a pot, adding 1/2 Tbsp of salt. Blanch the crown daisy briefly, stirring with a spatula for about 15-30 seconds until the color turns vibrant green. Be careful not to overcook, as it will become mushy.

Step 4

Step 5

Immediately after blanching, rinse the crown daisy under cold running water to stop the cooking process and maintain its crisp texture and bright color.

Step 5

Step 6

Gently squeeze out excess water from the blanched crown daisy. Excess moisture can dilute the seasoning. Cut the crown daisy into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 sections).

Step 6

Step 7

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped green onion and the cut crown daisy.

Step 7

Step 8

Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic to the bowl.

Step 8

Step 9

Add 1 Tbsp of gochugaru (chili flakes) and 1 Tbsp of gochujang (chili paste).

Step 9

Step 10

Add 1 Tbsp of soy sauce for savory depth.

Step 10

Step 11

Add 1/2 tsp of sugar to balance the flavors. Adjust sweetness to your preference.

Step 11

Step 12

Drizzle in 1 Tbsp of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and flavor.

Step 12

Step 13

Gently mix and toss everything together with your hands, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed without crushing the delicate crown daisy. Make sure the green onions and crown daisy are well combined with the sauce.

Step 13

Step 14

A flavorful side for picky eaters! This healthy and aromatic seasoned crown daisy is a perfect dish to stimulate your appetite during transitional seasons.
