Main Ingredients
- 1 handful frozen mixed seafood (approx. 100-150g)
- 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 zucchini, thinly sliced
- 50g green beans, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 100g tofu noodles
Sauce
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or cheongju)
- A pinch of black pepper
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or cheongju)
- A pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start by preparing the vegetables. Thinly slice the onion and zucchini, and slice the shiitake mushrooms into manageable pieces. Cut the green beans into appropriate lengths. Thaw the frozen mixed seafood by soaking it in cold water. If you want to remove any fishy smell from the seafood, pat it dry with paper towels and lightly season with cooking wine or cheongju.
Step 2
The key to a delicious stir-fry is the sauce! In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, red pepper flakes, cooking wine, and black pepper. Whisk them together to create the sauce beforehand. Preparing the sauce in advance will make the cooking process much smoother.
Step 3
Now, let’s begin stir-frying. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant. You’ll know it’s ready when the onions become translucent and a sweet aroma fills the air.
Step 4
Once the onions are lightly cooked, add the sliced zucchini, green beans, shiitake mushrooms, and the drained mixed seafood to the pan. Stir-fry over high heat for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables soften slightly and the seafood is cooked through. Be careful not to overcook, as the vegetables can become mushy.
Step 5
When the ingredients are partially cooked, add the tofu noodles and the prepared sauce to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Gently stir and mix everything together with a spatula, ensuring the sauce evenly coats the tofu noodles, vegetables, and seafood. It’s important to stir gently to avoid breaking the tofu noodles. Cook for about 2-3 more minutes until the sauce is well absorbed and flavors meld together.
Step 6
Finally, just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for added aroma and give it a final mix. Transfer the delicious Seafood Stir-fried Tofu Noodles to a serving plate. This dish is not only visually appealing but also incredibly healthy and satisfying. Enjoy your meal!
