Savory Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Bean Sprouts
Crispy Bean Sprouts Meets Flavorful Pork Belly: A Delicious Soy-Sauce Stir-Fry
The delightful crunch of bean sprouts meets the savory, rich flavor of pork belly, creating a fantastic side dish for rice. It’s incredibly simple to make!
Main Ingredients
- Pork Belly, 2 thick slices (thinly sliced pork belly is also great!)
- Fresh Bean Sprouts, about 1/2 bag
Seasoning
- Soy Sauce, 1/3 cup
- Oligosaccharide (for sweetness), about 1.5 to 2 drizzles
- Minced Garlic, 1/2 Tbsp
- Soy Sauce, 1/3 cup
- Oligosaccharide (for sweetness), about 1.5 to 2 drizzles
- Minced Garlic, 1/2 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the star of the dish: pork belly. About 2 thick slices are sufficient, but if you use thinly sliced pork belly (daepae samgyeopsal), you can cook it more easily and quickly, and enjoy a different texture.
Step 2
Place the pork belly in a frying pan and cook over medium heat until golden brown. Once the pork belly is cooked and has rendered some fat, cut it into bite-sized pieces. This helps the sauce to be absorbed evenly.
Step 3
When the pork belly is nicely browned, add all the prepared seasoning ingredients: soy sauce, oligosaccharide, and minced garlic. Stir-fry them together with the pork belly. Be careful not to burn the sauce by adjusting the heat, and stir until well combined with the pork belly.
Step 4
Once the pork belly has started to absorb the delicious sauce, add a generous amount of crunchy bean sprouts! Bean sprouts shrink significantly when cooked, so even if it looks like a lot at first, it will reduce in volume. Feel free to add a bit more if you like.
Step 5
It’s important not to overcook the bean sprouts to maintain their crispiness. Stir-fry them just enough for the texture to soften slightly. Serve this stir-fry over a bowl of warm rice for an incredibly delicious meal! It makes for a wonderful and satisfying meal.
