Main Ingredients- 1 package King Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 3 mushrooms)
- 1/2 Onion
- 1 Cheongyang chili pepper (optional, for a spicier kick)
Seasoning- 0.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp Corn Syrup or Oligosaccharide
- 0.5 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- A pinch of Black Pepper
- 0.5 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp Corn Syrup or Oligosaccharide
- 0.5 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- A pinch of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the king oyster mushrooms. Lightly rinse them under running water, trim off the ends, and cut them lengthwise into 2-3 pieces. Then, tear the mushrooms along their grain into bite-sized pieces (about 0.5 cm thick). This helps them absorb seasoning better and improves the texture. Slice the onion thinly and finely chop the Cheongyang chili pepper. (If you prefer less spice, omit the chili pepper or adjust the amount.)
Step 2
Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Once the garlic is fragrant, add the prepared king oyster mushrooms, sliced onion, and chopped chili pepper to the pan. Stir-fry over medium-high heat.
Step 3
When the mushrooms and onions begin to soften slightly, it’s time to add the seasonings. Add the minced garlic (0.5 Tbsp), soy sauce (1 Tbsp), oyster sauce (0.5 Tbsp), corn syrup (0.5 Tbsp), and a pinch of black pepper. Stir-fry everything together quickly until well combined. Ensure the seasonings don’t burn by stirring continuously.
Step 4
Continue to stir-fry for about 1 minute more, allowing the ingredients and seasonings to meld together. Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in the sesame oil (0.5 Tbsp) for a nutty aroma. Stir briefly to incorporate.
Step 5
Your delicious stir-fried king oyster mushrooms are now ready! This dish is perfect served over hot rice or packed as a lunchbox side. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
