♥ [Newlywed Table] Moist and Delicious Stir-Fried Fish Cakes – A Korean Staple
Introducing an ultra-simple recipe for moist stir-fried fish cakes that everyone from kids to adults will love, ready in just 10 minutes! This is the perfect side dish for meals or a delicious addition to lunchboxes. Let’s get started!
Main Ingredients- 10 sheets of square fish cakes (thin fish cakes can also be used according to preference)
- 1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
- 1/2 carrot (thinly julienned)
- 1 green onion (sliced diagonally or finely chopped)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the fish cakes. Cut them into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm wide. You can cut them smaller if you prefer, especially for children.
Step 2
Blanch the cut fish cakes in boiling water for about 1 minute. This step removes any excess oil and impurities from the fish cakes, resulting in a cleaner and tastier dish. Be careful not to over-blanch, as they can become too soft.
Step 3
Drain the blanched fish cakes well. Place them directly into a pan. Add the sliced onion, carrot, and chopped green onion. Also, add the minced garlic.
Step 4
Now it’s time for the seasonings. Pour the 4 tablespoons of soy sauce around the edges of the pan. This helps the soy sauce caramelize slightly, enhancing its flavor.
Step 5
Add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir everything together to combine. Stir-fry over medium-low heat until the ingredients are well incorporated. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and the fish cakes are evenly coated with the sauce.
Step 6
Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in the 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and sprinkle generously with sesame seeds for garnish. Adding sesame oil at the end preserves its fragrant aroma.
Step 7
Your delicious and moist stir-fried fish cakes are ready! Serve over warm rice or pack them as a side dish for your lunchbox for a satisfying and tasty meal.
