Main Ingredients

  • Dried Tofu (Gan Dou Fu) 100g
  • 1 Korean Green Chili Pepper
  • 1 Red Chili Pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, julienne the dried tofu into bite-sized strips. Blanch the julienned dried tofu in boiling water for a minute, then immediately rinse under cold water. Drain thoroughly, squeezing out excess water. This process helps remove any residual beany taste and prepares the tofu for absorbing flavors.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the Korean green chili pepper and red chili pepper, remove the stems, and slice them diagonally (bias-cut). These will add a beautiful color and a pleasant spicy kick to the dish.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat a wok or a deep frying pan over medium heat. Add the chili oil and minced garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; sautéing it thoroughly will bring out its aromatic depth.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the garlic is fragrant, add the drained dried tofu strips and the sliced chili peppers to the pan. Stir-fry them together gently, allowing the tofu to begin absorbing the infused flavors.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, add the doubanjiang and oyster sauce to the pan. Stir-fry everything quickly for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring the sauce coats all the ingredients evenly. Continue to stir-fry until the dried tofu is well-seasoned and tender. This delicious Chinese-style stir-fry is now ready to be enjoyed as a side dish or a flavorful snack!
