  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 4 servings
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • 400g pre-boiled dried radish greens (about 1 generous handful)
  • 1 cup (200ml) water
  • 100g chopped green onions (chop coarsely)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Doenjang (soybean paste) (use homemade Doenjang for extra savory flavor)
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp anchovy powder (optional, can omit)
  • 2 Tbsp perilla seed powder (essential for nutty flavor!)
  • 2-3 Tbsp perilla oil (use generously for richer aroma)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, thoroughly rinse the pre-boiled dried radish greens under running water. Ensure all dirt and impurities are removed. Once rinsed, squeeze out as much water as possible by hand. Then, cut the greens into manageable pieces, about 4-5 sections each. Cutting them too long can make stir-frying difficult.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, let’s start stir-frying! Prepare a wide pan and add 1 cup (200ml) of water and 1 Tbsp of Doenjang. Stir to dissolve the Doenjang in the water. Once it begins to boil gently, add all the prepared dried radish greens.

Step 2

Step 3

Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and 1 Tbsp of anchovy powder to infuse flavor. Stir well to combine all ingredients and stir-fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes. The radish greens will soften and absorb the savory Doenjang seasoning.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the liquid in the pan has reduced to a simmer, add 2-3 Tbsp of perilla oil for its rich aroma and 2 Tbsp of perilla seed powder for a nutty taste. Lower the heat to low and continue to stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes, being careful not to burn the seasonings. You’ll notice a wonderfully nutty aroma filling your kitchen.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, the finishing touches! Generously add the coarsely chopped green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Give it a gentle mix to combine. Once everything is well blended, turn off the heat, plate attractively, and your delicious stir-fried dried radish greens are ready to be enjoyed!
