Quick & Easy Onion Soy Sauce Dressing for Grilled Meats
Made this zesty and crunchy dressing in a flash, and it was a huge hit! Perfect for enjoying with your favorite meats.
Main Ingredients- 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 Korean green chili peppers, finely minced
Sauce Ingredients- 1 Tbsp raw sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar (or pickle brine)
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp raw sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar (or pickle brine)
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thinly slice the half onion. Finely mince the Korean green chili peppers; you can leave the seeds in if you prefer more heat. Place the sliced onion and minced chili peppers into a mixing bowl.
Step 2
Now it’s time to add all the sauce ingredients. In a separate small bowl, combine the minced garlic (2 Tbsp), raw sugar (1 Tbsp), soy sauce (3 Tbsp), oyster sauce (1 Tbsp), and rice vinegar (1 Tbsp). (Pro Tip: For a different tangy flavor, substitute the rice vinegar with 3 Tbsp of pickle brine.)
Step 3
Add the toasted sesame seeds (1 Tbsp) to the sauce mixture and stir well to combine everything evenly. Gently toss the dressing with the onions and chili peppers to coat. Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning as needed – add a little more sugar for sweetness or vinegar for tanginess if desired.
Step 4
Serve this vibrant dressing alongside your favorite grilled meats, such as pork belly or steak. The crisp onions, spicy chilies, and tangy-sweet sauce cut through richness and enhance the overall flavor experience. If you run out, simply refill by adding more onions and chilies along with 1 Tbsp each of sugar, soy sauce, and vinegar (or pickle brine).
