Delicious Sausage Stir-fry Recipe Using Fragrant Scallion Greens
Create a wonderful side dish using common frankfurters and any leftover scallion greens you might have. The subtle aroma of scallions combined with chewy sausages creates a flavor that both children and adults will love. Introducing the ‘Scallion Green Sausage Stir-fry,’ which is surprisingly delicious!
Main Ingredients- 20 Frankfurters
- 1 Scallion (green parts only)
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (Mirin or Sake)
- 1/2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Wine (Mirin or Sake)
- 1/2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, make shallow diagonal slits on both sides of the frankfurters for a pleasing appearance. Slice the scallion greens diagonally into about 5cm lengths. This helps them soften when cooked and blend well with the sausage.
Step 2
Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced scallion greens and stir-fry until they release their fragrant aroma. The mild sweetness of the scallions will infuse into the oil, adding depth of flavor.
Step 3
Once the scallions begin to soften slightly, add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine and 1/2 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir-fry them together. The cooking wine helps to eliminate any unwanted odors from the sausage, and the oyster sauce adds a savory umami boost to the dish.
Step 4
Now, add the scored frankfurters to the pan and continue to stir-fry. Toss them gently to ensure they are coated evenly with the sauce.
Step 5
Continue stir-frying until the sausages are golden brown and the scallions are almost translucent. Finally, sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and stir briefly to combine. This adds a nutty aroma and visual appeal. The delicious sausage stir-fry is now ready.
Step 6
Transfer the finished scallion green sausage stir-fry to a serving dish. Enjoy immediately while warm to savor the delightful combination of chewy sausage and aromatic scallions. It makes a fantastic side dish for rice or a simple appetizer!
