  • Category : Side dish
  • Ingredient Category : Processed foods
  • Occasion : Everyday
  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Sausages 200-250g (choose your favorite kind)
  • 1/2 Onion (adds sweetness)

Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp Gochujang (for spiciness)
  • 2 Tbsp Ketchup (for a sweet and tangy flavor)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic (boosts aroma!)
  • 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (for shine and sweetness control)
  • 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce (the secret to deep umami!)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the sausages to enhance their flavor. Briefly blanch them in boiling water. This helps remove excess grease and any unwanted smells, resulting in a cleaner taste.

Step 1

Step 2

Preparing the vegetables is easy. Peel and rinse the onion, then chop it into bite-sized cubes. Avoid chopping them too small, as they might break down too much when stir-fried.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, it’s time to make the star of this delicious dish: the sauce! In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp Gochujang, 2 Tbsp Ketchup, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp oligosaccharide, and 1 Tbsp oyster sauce. Mix well until smooth. Preparing this in advance will make the stir-frying process much smoother.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and stir-fry until they become translucent. (Tip: Adding too much onion can release a lot of moisture, making it harder to achieve a good stir-fry. Stick to the recipe’s amount, or recommend using only about half an onion if you’re concerned!)

Step 4

Step 5

Once the onions are lightly cooked, add the prepared sausages to the pan and stir-fry them together. The sausages will become slightly browned, releasing a wonderful aroma as they mingle with the onions.

Step 5

Step 6

When the sausages and onions are nicely stir-fried, pour in all the prepared sauce. Toss everything together to ensure the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 1-2 minutes to prevent the sauce from burning.

Step 6

Step 7

Finally, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top, if desired, for a complete sausage and vegetable stir-fry that’s perfect in both taste and appearance! This dish is wonderful served over hot rice as a donburi, or enjoyed with a cold beer or soju.
