- 1 cup dried shrimp (for broth)
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to make a savory and refreshing soybean paste soup using baby napa cabbage and dried shrimp. It’s a dish with a magical flavor that will make you want to finish your entire bowl of rice!
Step 2
First, pour 800ml of water into a pot and add 1 cup of cleaned dried shrimp. The dried shrimp will add a deep and rich umami flavor to the broth.
Step 3
Once the water with the dried shrimp starts to boil, dissolve 2 Tbsp of soybean paste, 1 Tbsp of red pepper paste, 1/2 tsp of sugar, and 1 Tbsp of red pepper powder into the broth. The ratio of soybean paste to red pepper paste is important, so be sure to follow it! If the soup tastes a bit bland, you can add a pinch of salt to adjust the seasoning.
Step 4
When the soup comes to a rolling boil, add the prepared baby napa cabbage and chopped green onions. Be careful not to overcook the baby napa cabbage, as it can become mushy. Cook it just until the leaves wilt slightly to maintain a crisp texture.
Step 5
Once all the ingredients have blended and a delicious aroma fills the air, your soup is ready! Enjoy a hearty and satisfying meal with this savory and refreshing baby napa cabbage and dried shrimp soybean paste soup.
