Main Ingredients

  • Frozen Fried Tofu (Yubu) 80g
  • Carrot 30g (approx. 1/4 medium carrot)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the carrot thoroughly, peel it, and julienne it finely. The julienned carrots will add color and a delightful crunch to the dish.

Step 1

Step 2

Cut the frozen fried tofu (yubu) into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm thick. Cutting them too small might cause them to clump together, so aim for a moderate size.

Step 2

Step 3

Place the cut yubu in a sieve. Pouring boiling water over the yubu will effectively remove excess oil, reducing its greasy texture and resulting in a cleaner taste.

Step 3

Step 4

After removing the oil with hot water, gently press the yubu with your hands to squeeze out any remaining moisture. Thoroughly draining the yubu is crucial to ensure the dressing adheres well and the salad isn’t watery.

Step 4

Step 5

In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp miso paste, 0.5 Tbsp sugar, and 0.5 Tbsp vinegar. Whisk until well combined to create the miso dressing. Feel free to adjust the sugar and vinegar to suit your preference.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the drained yubu and julienned carrots to the prepared miso dressing. Gently toss everything together until the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing. Your delicious Miso & Vinegar Yubu Salad is now ready! You can enjoy it immediately, or chill it in the refrigerator for a while for an even more enhanced flavor.
