  • 1/4 stalk green onion (or 1 Tbsp of the white part)

  • 1 Tbsp sugar (approx. 15g)
  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce (approx. 15ml)
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (approx. 5g)
  • 1 Tbsp perilla oil (approx. 15ml)
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil (approx. 30ml)

Cooking Instructions

First, thoroughly wash the garlic scapes. Rinse them under running water to remove any dirt or debris. Trim off the tough ends, and then cut the scapes into bite-sized pieces, about 4-5 cm long. This makes them easier to cook evenly and eat.

Finely chop the green onion. This will add a mild sweetness and enhance the overall flavor of the dish. It’s best to use the white parts of the green onion.

Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped green onion and stir-fry until fragrant. The aromatic scent released from the green onion will significantly elevate the dish’s flavor profile.
