Main Ingredients
  • 1 pack dried pollack strips (about 100-150g)
  • Water (for soaking)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

To soften the dried pollack strips, soak them in water for about 10 minutes. Be careful not to soak them for too long, as this can remove too much of the savory flavor and make them mushy.

Step 2

After soaking, firmly squeeze out all the excess water from the pollack strips. You can use paper towels to ensure they are well-drained. Next, tear the strips into bite-sized pieces, approximately 3-5 cm long. Also, carefully remove any large, tough bones you might find within the strips.

Step 3

Now, let’s prepare the delicious seasoning sauce. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of doenjang, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of maesilcheong, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Finally, have your sesame oil and sesame seeds ready to add for a nutty aroma.

Step 4

Add the prepared seasoning sauce to the dried pollack strips and gently mix them together with your hands, as if you’re massaging the ingredients. Ensure the seasoning coats the pollack evenly. Once everything is well combined, drizzle in the sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds, mixing lightly one last time. Your delicious seasoned dried pollack salad is now ready to be enjoyed!
