Today, we’re making a hearty Bulgogi Panini that’s perfect for a single meal! You can find more recipes on my blog. Feel free to follow! ^^ https://blog.naver.com/mabuce
Main Ingredients- 1 Ciabatta bread
- 400g beef bulgogi (pre-seasoned, store-bought recommended)
- 100g fresh arugula
- 2 slices of cheese
- 2 shiitake mushrooms
- 8-9 Korean green chili peppers (gwari peppers)
- 1/2 onion
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start with the star of our sandwich – the bread! Ciabatta bread is fantastic for paninis due to its crispy exterior and chewy interior. If you can’t find ciabatta, any similarly textured bread will work well.
Step 2
For the bulgogi, I’m using a convenient pre-seasoned, store-bought product. This saves so much time as it’s already perfectly flavored and ready to cook!
Step 3
Prepare the vegetables to be stir-fried with the bulgogi. Remove the stems from the shiitake mushrooms and slice them thinly. Slice the onion into strips. Trim the tops off the Korean green chili peppers and slice them in half lengthwise.
Step 4
To ensure the bulgogi marinade penetrates the Korean green chili peppers nicely, prick them a few times with a fork. This will help them absorb the delicious flavors.
Step 5
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the prepared vegetables and bulgogi, and stir-fry until lightly browned and cooked through. Be careful not to burn the bulgogi.
Step 6
Slice the ciabatta bread in half horizontally, and then cut each half into two pieces, creating four sections in total. This will make them easier to assemble and cook.
Step 7
Lightly oil a grill pan or a regular frying pan over low heat. Place the cut sides of the ciabatta bread down, followed by the cheese slices. Grill until the cheese is slightly melted and the bread is toasted.
Step 8
Generously pile the cooked bulgogi onto the cheese-covered bread. The warm bulgogi will meld beautifully with the melted cheese.
Step 9
Finally, top with a heaping handful of fresh, peppery arugula! The slightly bitter notes of the arugula provide a wonderful contrast to the sweet bulgogi. Place the top half of the bread on top to complete your delicious Bulgogi Panini. Enjoy your homemade masterpiece!
