Ingredients
  • 250g broccoli florets
  • 3-5 sheets of dried seaweed (gim)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1.5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A pinch of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Trim the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Soak the cut broccoli in water for about 3-5 minutes to wash away any impurities and ensure freshness. Rinse thoroughly and drain well.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the drained broccoli with 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp olive oil, and 2 pinches of salt. Toss gently to coat. The olive oil will help keep the broccoli vibrant and fresh, while the garlic adds a fragrant touch.

Step 3

Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a boil. Place the seasoned broccoli in the steamer, cover with a lid, and steam for approximately 2 minutes. Be careful not to overcook; you want the broccoli to remain slightly crisp.

Step 4

Lightly toast the dried seaweed sheets in a dry pan until crispy. Crumble the toasted seaweed into small pieces. Add the crumbled seaweed to a mixing bowl with the steamed broccoli.

Step 5

Add 1.5 Tbsp of soy sauce and 1 Tbsp of sesame oil to the bowl. These seasonings will provide a savory depth and a rich aroma.

Step 6

Finally, sprinkle generously with sesame seeds. Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined. Your delicious Broccoli and Seaweed Salad is ready to be served. For a touch of sweetness, you can add a tiny bit of sugar or plum syrup if desired.
