Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by preparing the garlic, which will add a wonderful aroma to your risotto. Mince 10 cloves of garlic using a knife or a food processor. The fragrant garlic oil is key to a delicious base.
Step 2
Heat 3-4 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. This step infuses the oil with garlic flavor.
Step 3
Once the garlic is aromatic, add the diced tomato and fresh basil leaves. Stir well to combine, allowing the tomato to soften slightly and meld with the other ingredients.
Step 4
Continue to simmer the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes. This allows the flavors to deepen and the tomato to break down, forming a richer sauce base.
Step 5
Now, add the star ingredient: the beef. Add the small pieces of beef to the pan, along with 3 tablespoons of Highball (or tonic water) and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through and coated in the sauce.
Step 6
Once the beef is cooked, add the diced bell pepper and 1 bowl of warm cooked rice to the pan. Gently stir everything together with a spatula, ensuring the rice is evenly coated with the flavorful sauce.
Step 7
Continue to cook the risotto over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking, for about 3-4 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated and the rice has reached a creamy risotto consistency. Finally, turn off the heat and season with a pinch of black pepper and a sprinkle of grated cheese to taste.
