Make a delicious and satisfying beef and bean sprout rice effortlessly with your electric rice cooker. This simple recipe includes a flavorful seasoning sauce that perfectly complements the dish.
Rice Ingredients
- 140g fresh soybean sprouts
- 100g minced beef
- 2 cups rice, rinsed and soaked
- 1 sheet dried kelp (about 10x10cm)
- 500ml water (for kelp stock)
Beef Marinade
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or sake)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- A pinch of black pepper
Seasoning Sauce
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or sake)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by steeping the kelp sheet in 500ml of warm water for at least 30 minutes. This will create a rich, flavorful kelp stock. Remove and discard the kelp sheet afterward.

In a bowl, combine the minced beef with 1 Tbsp cooking wine, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for a short while to tenderize the beef and infuse it with flavor.

Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Add the marinated minced beef and stir-fry until it is cooked through and slightly browned. The aromatic scent will start to build your appetite.

Add the rinsed rice to your electric rice cooker inner pot. Pour in the prepared kelp stock. Adjust the water level as you normally would for cooking rice.
