Ingredients

  • 8-10 strips of bacon (adjust quantity to your preference)
  • 1 pack of enoki mushrooms (approx. 100g)
  • A little cooking oil (or olive oil)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, gather the ingredients for your delicious bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms. It’s best to prepare the quantity you desire. Have about 8-10 strips of bacon, depending on your preference, and 1 pack (about 100g) of enoki mushrooms ready. Since bacon releases a good amount of fat when cooked, you’ll only need a tiny bit of cooking oil, or you can even skip it.

Step 1

Step 2

Carefully separate and lay out each strip of bacon. It’s better to roll each strip individually rather than layering them, as this ensures the enoki mushrooms are evenly coated and results in a neater appearance when cooked.

Step 2

Step 3

Trim the root end of the enoki mushrooms, rinse them lightly under running water, and pat them dry. Then, gather a suitable amount of mushrooms and place them on a strip of bacon. Don’t use too much, or it will be difficult to wrap the bacon around them. Place just enough for the bacon to fully encase.

Step 3

Step 4

Wrap the bacon tightly around the enoki mushrooms, similar to how you would roll sushi. It’s important to roll it all the way to the end to prevent the mushrooms from slipping out. Honestly, this step is pretty much the whole process, it’s that simple! Surprised by how easy it is?

Step 4

Step 5

Now, heat a frying pan. Add a very small amount of olive oil or cooking oil, then use a paper towel to lightly coat the entire surface of the pan. Bacon itself renders a lot of fat, so there’s no need to add much oil. In fact, too much oil can make the dish greasy.

Step 5

Step 6

A key tip for the first step is to place the wrapped bacon rolls seam-side down in the pan. This allows the bacon to seal itself as it cooks, preventing the rolls from coming apart. Cook over medium-low heat for a considerable amount of time, allowing the bacon to slowly crisp up and the mushrooms to cook through.

Step 6

Step 7

Once the bacon is golden brown and the enoki mushrooms have softened, gently roll the bacon-wrapped mushrooms around the pan to ensure even cooking on all sides. Make sure every surface is golden and appetizing. Once perfectly cooked, arrange the bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms on a plate. They are best enjoyed hot right away!
