Salmon Patties: Perfect for Kids’ Meals!
Super Easy Salmon Can Patties Recipe
When you feel it’s not quite right to give canned food directly to your children, but you don’t want to waste it either! Try making these soft and delicious salmon patties using canned salmon. They are packed with nutrition, making them a fantastic snack or side dish for kids. This recipe is also very practical as it can be made quickly with ingredients you likely have in your fridge.
Main Ingredients- 1 can salmon (drained)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil (for pan-frying)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Open one can of salmon and drain the oil thoroughly. You can use a sieve or gently press with a fork to remove as much oil as possible. It’s important to separate the salmon flesh cleanly.
Step 2
Transfer the drained salmon to a medium-sized bowl. Crack one fresh egg into the bowl. The egg will help bind the salmon mixture together and add a tender texture.
Step 3
Using a spatula or fork, mash the salmon and egg together, mixing them thoroughly. Gently break down the salmon chunks until they are well combined with the egg. Mixing well ensures a uniform texture. You can also use chopsticks to stir and mix them easily.
Step 4
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Spoon portions of the salmon mixture onto the hot pan, forming round, flat patties. Be careful not to cook over high heat, as the outside can burn before the inside is cooked through.
Step 5
Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and appetizing. Flip them over to ensure they are cooked through. Your delicious and nutritious salmon patties are ready! Enjoy their tender texture and savory salmon flavor. These are perfect as a side dish for children or as a simple appetizer.
