Ingredients- Rolled Fried Tofu (Dongwon brand recommended) – 1 pack
- Assorted Vegetables (lettuce, red cabbage, cucumber, carrot, bell pepper, etc., to your preference)
- Simmered Lotus Root – 1/2 cup (or thinly sliced blanched fresh lotus root)
- Seasoned Seaweed (perilla oil seaweed or seasoned seaweed flakes) – 2 sheets
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, firmly squeeze out the excess liquid from the rolled fried tofu by hand. This step is crucial to prevent the tofu from unraveling and to help it hold its shape. Once squeezed, place a sheet of perilla oil seasoned seaweed on top of the fried tofu. The nutty aroma of the perilla oil in the seaweed complements the sweetness of the tofu beautifully.
Step 2
Next, arrange the assorted, thinly julienned vegetables attractively on top of the seaweed. Slicing the vegetables thinly will make them easier to roll and provide a delightful texture. Incorporating vegetables with a crisp bite will enhance the overall experience. If using simmered lotus root, thinly slice it and scatter it over the tofu for an added touch of sweetness.
Step 3
Starting from the edge closest to you, carefully and firmly roll up the fried tofu with the seaweed and vegetables. Roll it tightly, similar to making sushi rolls, to ensure the filling stays inside and the roll maintains its shape. Secure the end with a toothpick to prevent it from coming apart. Your delicious rolled fried tofu rolls are now ready to be enjoyed!
