Corn Soup Ingredients- 10 portions frozen corn kernels
- 700ml milk
- 1/3 Tbsp salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 slice processed cheese
- Pinch of dried parsley (for garnish)
- 1 Tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare 10 portions of frozen corn kernels. You can use them directly without thawing.
Step 2
Carefully remove the corn kernels from the cob. You can use a knife or your hands for this. Be cautious to avoid injury.
Step 3
Place the removed corn kernels into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. If you prefer a bit more texture, you can pulse it a few times for a slightly chunkier consistency. For a silky smooth soup, blend thoroughly.
Step 4
In a deep pan or pot, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat. Melting it slowly prevents the butter from burning.
Step 5
Once the butter is melted, increase the heat to medium-high and let the pan preheat.
Step 6
When the butter starts to bubble, add all the blended corn puree. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, to combine the corn with the butter and enhance its nutty aroma. This step brings out the corn’s natural sweetness and flavor.
Step 7
Gradually pour in 700ml of milk into the sautéed corn puree. Use a whisk or spatula to stir well and ensure there are no lumps.
Step 8
Once the milk begins to simmer, add 1 slice of processed cheese. The cheese will melt smoothly, thickening the soup and adding a delightful richness.
Step 9
After the cheese has melted, season with 1/3 tablespoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper to taste. Let the soup simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes until it reaches your desired consistency. Remember to stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Step 10
Finally, taste the soup and adjust the salt if necessary, according to your preference. This delicious corn soup is ready in under 10 minutes! You’ve successfully revived the flavor of your less-than-ideal frozen corn.
Step 11
Ladle the finished corn soup into serving bowls. For an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal, sprinkle a pinch of dried parsley over the top.
