  • Fresh hot water, 200ml

Enchanting Irish Coffee

  • Brewed coffee, 200ml
  • Sugar, 2 tsp (adjust to taste)
  • Irish whiskey, 45ml
  • Heavy cream, whipped (to taste)
  • Cinnamon powder (for garnish, to taste)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the hot coffee that will be the heart of your Irish Coffee. You can brew it using your favorite beans with a hand-drip method, use espresso, or even mix a strong cup of instant coffee. Since the coffee’s aroma and flavor are key to the cocktail’s success, take your time and prepare it with care.

Step 2

If you’re using the hand-drip method, measure out 20g of coffee beans. Grind them to a medium consistency, similar to the size between grains of rice and coarse salt. Slowly and evenly pour 200ml of hot water over the grounds to extract the coffee. You’ll know you’re succeeding when a wonderful coffee aroma fills the air!

Step 3

Carefully pour the 200ml of freshly brewed hot coffee into a pre-warmed glass. Next, add 2 teaspoons of sugar and stir gently until the coffee and sugar are completely dissolved. Aim for a harmonious balance between the coffee’s slight bitterness and the sugar’s sweetness. Feel free to adjust the sugar amount to your personal preference.

Step 4

Now it’s time to add the whiskey. Pour 45ml of Irish whiskey into the prepared coffee. Stir lightly to incorporate the alcohol without overpowering the flavors. Then, gently spoon the softly whipped heavy cream over the back of a spoon, allowing it to float on top of the coffee. The layered effect is part of the charm of an Irish Coffee. Finally, if you like, lightly dust with cinnamon powder for garnish. Your rich and flavorful Irish Coffee is complete! Take your time and savor every sip.
