Main Ingredients

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 2-3 stalks of green onions

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Start by thoroughly washing the 12 cherry tomatoes under cool running water. After washing, gently remove the small stems. Then, carefully cut each tomato in half. This preparation allows the seasoning to penetrate the tomatoes beautifully.

Step 1

Step 2

Next, prepare about 2-3 stalks of green onions. Wash them, trim the roots and the very tips, and then chop them into small, bite-sized pieces. These will add a lovely freshness and a mild oniony flavor to your salad.

Step 2

Step 3

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes and the chopped green onions. Now, add all the seasoning ingredients: 2 tablespoons of gochugaru, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce (or soy sauce), 0.5 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 0.5 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds. Feel free to adjust the amount of gochugaru if you prefer it spicier or milder.

Step 3

Step 4

Gently toss and mix all the ingredients together until the tomatoes and green onions are evenly coated with the seasoning. Be careful not to overmix, as this can cause the tomatoes to break apart. A light and gentle stir is key to maintaining the texture of the tomatoes.

Step 4

Step 5

And there you have it! Your vibrant and delicious Tomato Kimchi Salad is ready. It’s wonderfully fresh and flavorful. While it’s best enjoyed immediately for maximum freshness, chilling it in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes can enhance its refreshing taste and crispness. Serve it as a delightful side dish or enjoy it with rice!
