A Simple and Delicious Shredded Radish Soup Recipe
We’ve prepared a simple and refreshing daikon radish soup, perfect for a light and comforting breakfast. This clear and mild broth is wonderfully satisfying.
Main Ingredients- 600ml Kelp Broth
- 300g Daikon Radish
- 2 Tbsp Green Onion (chopped)
- 1 Red Chili
- 1 Green Chili (like Cheongyang pepper for a kick)
Seasoning- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Fish Sauce (or Soy Sauce for soup)
- Pinch of Fine Salt
- Pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Fish Sauce (or Soy Sauce for soup)
- Pinch of Fine Salt
- Pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 300g of daikon radish. Wash the radish thoroughly, peel it, and then cut it into thin shreds. Shredding it thinly allows the flavors to meld beautifully and results in a tender texture.
Step 2
Finely chop 1 red chili and 1 green chili after removing their stems and seeds. Also, finely chop about 2 tablespoons of green onion. The green chili adds a pleasant spiciness, while the red chili provides a lovely color.
Step 3
Pour 600ml of kelp broth into a pot and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the broth is boiling, add the shredded daikon radish and reduce the heat to medium. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the radish becomes translucent and tender.
Step 4
When the radish is tender, add the chopped green chili, red chili, and green onion to the pot. Stir in 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and let it simmer for a little longer. Adding garlic enhances the soup’s savory aroma.
Step 5
Add 1 teaspoon of fish sauce to deepen the broth’s flavor. If you don’t have fish sauce, soy sauce for soup can be used as an alternative. Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning with fine salt if needed. Be careful not to make it too salty.
Step 6
Ladle the well-cooked radish soup into serving bowls. Finally, sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds on top for a nutty aroma and delicious finish. Enjoy this soup warm for the best flavor experience.
