Main Ingredients
- 1/4 Watermelon, fresh
- Pinch of salt (to balance flavors)
- 2 Tbsp honey (for sweetness)
- 1/2 Lemon (for a zesty kick)
- Club soda or sparkling water (for fizziness)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by removing the rind from the watermelon. Then, cut the watermelon into manageable pieces that will easily fit into your juicer.
Step 2
If you’re aiming for a ‘Tang-mo-ban’ style, cut about 1 to 2 cm cubes from the watermelon flesh. These cubes will add texture and visual appeal to your drink.
Step 3
Place the prepared watermelon pieces into your juicer and blend until smooth to extract the fresh watermelon juice. The goal is to capture the natural sweetness and pure flavor of the watermelon.
Step 4
Pour the extracted watermelon juice into an ice cube tray and freeze it. These watermelon juice ice cubes will help keep your drink perfectly chilled without diluting the flavor.
Step 5
Now, prepare your serving glass. Add some of the frozen watermelon juice cubes, a few of the watermelon cubes you cut earlier, and top up with club soda or sparkling water for a refreshing fizz. You can adjust the amount of carbonated water to your liking.
Step 6
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Fresh lemon juice adds a bright, tangy note that beautifully complements the sweetness of the watermelon.
Step 7
In a separate bowl or directly in the glass if you prefer, combine approximately 400ml of the fresh watermelon juice with a pinch of salt, the freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of honey. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved and the flavors are well integrated. Adjust honey to your desired sweetness level; you can also use sugar or corn syrup.
Step 8
Finally, pour the seasoned watermelon juice mixture into the prepared glass containing the watermelon cubes and sparkling water. Add a few more of the frozen watermelon juice cubes or regular ice. Your delicious and visually appealing homemade watermelon juice is ready to be enjoyed!
