Ingredients

  • 6 whole grilled Vienna sausages

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp oligodang (corn syrup or rice syrup)

In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of gochujang, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, and 1 tablespoon of oligodang. Whisk them together thoroughly to create a delicious sauce. Feel free to adjust the sweetness and spiciness to your preference.

Lightly blanch the 6 whole Vienna sausages in boiling water for about 1 minute. This helps remove excess grease and gives them a pleasant, firm texture. Drain the blanched sausages, rinse them with cold water, and pat them dry. Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces, about 1-2 cm thick. Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat and stir-fry the sliced sausages until they are lightly browned and golden.

Once the sausages are nicely browned, pour the prepared sauce into the pan. It’s best to reduce the heat to low at this stage to prevent the sauce from burning.

Stir-fry the sausages and sauce together for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring the sauce coats the sausages evenly. Listen for that satisfying ‘sizzle’ as it cooks! Once done, transfer the finished sausage stir-fry to a serving dish. Enjoy this delightful dish that pairs wonderfully with rice!
