  • Cooking : Stir-fry
  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 15 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of warm cooked rice
  • 1/6 head of cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1/6 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk of green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 strip of bacon, finely chopped

Seasoning & Frying Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 small piece of butter (approx. 10g)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil (for green onion oil)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s create some aromatic green onion oil. Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced green onions and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them; the goal is to extract their subtle aroma.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, it’s time to add the vegetables to the pan. Add the finely diced carrots, cabbage, and onion directly to the pan with the green onion oil. Sauté until the vegetables are slightly softened. They will release their natural moisture as they cook.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the vegetables are partially cooked and well combined, add the chopped bacon and stir-fry together. The bacon will render its fat, adding a delicious savory flavor. Season with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper.

Step 3

Step 4

Here’s a secret tip for extra flavor! Add 1 small piece of butter and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the pan, letting them melt and combine with the ingredients. The butter adds richness, and the soy sauce brings a savory depth. Stir quickly to ensure even distribution.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice to the pan. Gently stir and break up any clumps of rice with your spatula, mixing everything together until well combined. Continue to stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the rice is heated through and the ingredients are evenly distributed. Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a fragrant finish. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade fried rice!
