Quick & Easy 5-Minute Kimchi Soup
Making Kimchi Soup in a Ramen Pot: A 10-Minute Wonder
Whip up a delicious and refreshing Kimchi Soup in just 5 minutes! Perfect for busy mornings or a quick, comforting meal.
Main Ingredients- Well-fermented kimchi, about 1/3 cup (paper cup measurement)
- Water, 250ml (1 paper cup)
- Half an onion (small size)
- A little chopped green onion
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Finely chop the well-fermented kimchi into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 cm). Measure out approximately 1/3 cup using a paper cup. Using more fermented kimchi will result in a richer flavor.
Step 2
In a ramen pot or a regular pot, add the chopped kimchi and half an onion, roughly chopped. Now, add 1 tablespoon of dried anchovy powder and 1/2 tablespoon of dried shrimp powder for a deep umami flavor.
Step 3
Carefully pour in 1 cup (250ml) of water, measured with a paper cup. Ensure the ingredients are mostly submerged.
Step 4
Bring the soup to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 5 minutes. This allows the onions to soften and the flavors to meld beautifully.
Step 5
After simmering, turn off the heat. Season the soup with 1/2 tablespoon of fish sauce to taste. Finally, garnish with a little chopped green onion. Your delicious Kimchi Soup is ready! Enjoy it piping hot.
