- 1/2 Tomato
- Parsley flakes, a pinch
- 1/2 cup Water
Sauce- 2 Tbsp Tonkatsu sauce

- 2 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
- 2 Tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
- 1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
- 2 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Pat the 400g pork neck dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to enhance tenderness and flavor.
Step 2
Prepare the sauce by combining 2 Tbsp tonkatsu sauce, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, 2 Tbsp oligodang, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and 2 Tbsp mirin in a small bowl. Whisk until well combined. Having the sauce ready will streamline the cooking process.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated pork neck on both sides until beautifully browned and the juices are locked in. Ensure the exterior is golden brown for optimal flavor and texture.
Step 4
Once the pork is well-seared, pour the prepared sauce mixture into the pan. Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan. This will help create a luscious sauce and blend the flavors.
Step 5
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to thicken and coat the pork by basting it with the sauce as it cooks. Continue this process until the sauce has reduced to your desired consistency.
Step 6
While the steak is simmering, prepare your sides. Slice or dice an onion and sauté it in a separate pan until softened. Halve a tomato for garnish. Fry an egg to your preference, ensuring the yolk remains slightly runny.
Step 7
Arrange the glazed pork steak on a plate. Add the sautéed onions, fried egg, and corn kernels alongside the steak. Sprinkle a pinch of parsley flakes over the top for a final touch of color and freshness. Your restaurant-quality pork neck steak is now ready to serve!
Step 8
Using a knife and fork, carefully slice the steak into bite-sized pieces while it’s still warm.
Step 9
Enjoy the incredibly delicious steak, savoring the rich juices and the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. You’ve successfully recreated a fantastic meal at home!
