  • 1/2 Onion, thinly sliced

Bulgogi Marinade
  • 3 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Mirin (or cooking wine)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
  • A little Sesame oil (about 1/2 tsp)
  • A pinch of Black pepper
  • A little Green onion, chopped

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the main ingredient for bulgogi: 200g of pork. Also, slice half an onion thinly to add flavor and sweetness to the rice bowl. You can add other vegetables like carrots or mushrooms if you like.

Step 2

Now, let’s make the delicious bulgogi marinade. In a bowl, combine 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp mirin, and 1 Tbsp minced garlic. Mix them well. Add a little sesame oil and a pinch of black pepper for extra aroma. Add the pork to the marinade and mix thoroughly with your hands. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

Step 3

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they become translucent and tender. This will bring out their natural sweetness.

Step 4

Once the onions are softened, add the marinated pork to the pan. Stir-fry the pork and onions together, breaking up the meat with chopsticks or a spatula to prevent sticking. It’s best to cook this over medium-high heat to sear the meat and coat it evenly with the marinade.

Step 5

Continue to cook until the pork is fully cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly, coating the meat beautifully. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the pork tough.

Step 6

Serve the delicious pork bulgogi over a bowl of warm steamed rice. Garnish with some chopped green onions, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and a dash of black pepper. Your homemade Pork Bulgogi Rice Bowl is ready to enjoy!
