Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Today’s delicious dish is Pork and Eggplant Rice, made with the Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker. First, add 1 cup of washed rice and 200ml of water to the rice cooker. (Set aside 1 eggplant, 100g of finely chopped pork, and 1 green onion.)
Step 2
Add 1 Tbsp of cooking wine to the pork and gently mix to marinate. This will make the meat more tender and remove any gamey odor.
Step 3
Finely chop the green onion. Some will be used for the sauce, and some will be added during cooking for aroma. The thinner the slices, the more fragrant the flavor will be.
Step 4
Wash the eggplant, remove the stem, cut it in half lengthwise, and then slice it into 0.5cm thick pieces. Slicing them not too thinly will prevent them from becoming mushy when steamed with the rice.
Step 5
Open the lid of the Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker and place the washed rice and 200ml of water into the inner pot.
Step 6
Now, close the rice cooker lid. On the control panel, you’ll find a dial to select between ‘Pressure Cook’ (고압) and ‘Non-Pressure Cook’ (무압). Turn it to the ‘Non-Pressure Cook’ setting. This convenient pressure control feature of the Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker ensures even more delicious rice.
Step 7
The Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker’s dual motion valve and IH high-power heating system are the secrets to cooking each grain of rice perfectly. The ‘Non-Pressure Cook’ mode yields fluffy, separate grains, while the ‘Pressure Cook’ mode results in chewy, sticky rice. You can choose based on your desired texture. Today, we’ll use the ‘Non-Pressure Cook’ mode for white rice.
Step 8
On the cooker’s display, you’ll see the ‘Non-Pressure Cook’ light illuminate. Pressing this button will initiate the ‘Non-Pressure White Rice Cooking’ voice prompt. Your delicious rice is now cooking!
Step 9
The estimated cooking time will be shown on the display (approximately 33 minutes). Watching this time is crucial for timing when to add the ingredients – it’s the key to successfully making your eggplant rice. Make sure to time it correctly, not too early or too late.
Step 10
About 10 minutes after the cooking starts, press the ‘Open Cooking’ button. Then, carefully open the rice cooker lid. The ‘Open Cooking’ function is a hidden gem that preserves the texture of the ingredients, greatly enhancing the flavor of your eggplant rice. You have about 3 minutes to complete this step, so work quickly.
Step 11
Before adding ingredients to the inner pot, check for the ‘Smart Lock Release’ indicator to ensure the lid can be opened safely.
Step 12
With the lid open, evenly spread the marinated pork, sliced eggplant, and chopped green onions over the rice that has been partially cooked. Spreading the ingredients evenly is important.
Step 13
Now, drizzle 3 Tbsp of soy sauce and 1 Tbsp of sesame oil evenly over the ingredients. This seasoning will infuse the rice and ingredients with delicious flavor as they cook together. After drizzling, close the lid.
Step 14
The Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker will intelligently continue the cooking process. While it does that, we can prepare the seasoning sauce.
Step 15
While the rice cooker is cooking, mix 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, 3 Tbsp chopped green onion, and 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds in a separate bowl to make a delicious seasoning sauce. You can add a little more soy sauce to taste if desired.
Step 16
When you hear the completion beep, carefully open the lid. Gently mix the cooked eggplant and pork with the rice using a spatula, being careful not to mash the rice grains. Serve in bowls and enjoy with the prepared seasoning sauce! The delicious aroma of eggplant rice filling your mouth will bring warmth to your table. The design and functionality of the Cuckoo Twin Pressure Cooker are truly satisfying! I love it!
