Pizza Fried Rice! Fried Rice That Tastes Like Pizza! Perfect for Kids~
Today, I’ve made a special fried rice that tastes just like pizza! It’s a fantastic dish that kids absolutely adore, making it perfect for a weekend treat or a special meal. The combination of savory ingredients, tangy tomato sauce, and melted cheese creates a delightful pizza-like experience. Let’s get cooking!
Fried Rice Ingredients- 50g Ham (diced)
- 20g Scallions (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 Cheongyang chili pepper (optional, finely chopped)
- 5 Button mushrooms (diced)
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 1 Egg
- 7 Tbsp Tomato sauce (adjust to taste)
- 30g Mozzarella cheese (more or less to taste)
- 200g Cooked rice (warm)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the vegetables and ham for the fried rice. Finely chop the onion, scallions, garlic, optional Cheongyang chili pepper, button mushrooms, and ham. I minced them all for maximum flavor, but you can dice them smaller if you prefer for the kids. Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan and add all the prepared vegetables and ham. Sauté until they are lightly golden and fragrant, allowing the natural sweetness of the vegetables and the savory flavor of the ham to develop.
Step 2
While the vegetables and ham are sautéing, add 2 pinches of salt to enhance their flavors and season the mixture. Be careful not to over-salt; just enough to bring out the best in the ingredients.

Once the ingredients are well sautéed, push them to one side of the pan. Crack the egg into the empty space. This way, you can cook the scrambled eggs alongside the other ingredients, making the process more efficient.

As the egg begins to set, gently stir it with chopsticks or a spatula to create fluffy scrambled eggs. The key is to cook the egg until it’s just set and tender, not dry or rubbery.

Combine the gently cooked scrambled eggs with the sautéed vegetables and ham. Stir everything together well, ensuring all the components are evenly mixed.

Now, add 200g of cooked rice (about one standard microwaveable rice pack) to the pan. Gently break up any clumps of rice with your spatula and stir-fry everything together until the rice grains are separated and well combined with the other ingredients.

Once the rice is mixed in, pour in 7 tablespoons of tomato sauce. I recommend starting with about 5 tablespoons and then adding more to suit your personal taste. Since the cheese will mellow the flavor slightly later on, it’s a good idea to make the tomato sauce taste a little more pronounced. This will ensure the final dish has a vibrant, pizza-like flavor!

When the fried rice is ready, transfer it to a serving dish. You can plate it attractively for a nice presentation.

Sprinkle 30g of mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the fried rice. If you’re a big fan of cheese, feel free to add even more! The creamy, melted cheese will elevate the flavor of the fried rice to a whole new level.
