Main Ingredients- 1/3 Zucchini, finely diced
- 1/3 Carrot, finely diced
- 1/3 Onion, finely diced
- 1/4 Bell Pepper, finely diced
- 150g Pre-cooked Beef (Refer to recipe @6947579)
- 1.5 bowls Cooked Rice
- Seaweed sheets (to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your vegetables. Finely dice the zucchini, carrot, bell pepper, and onion into small pieces, about 0.5cm in size. Smaller dices will ensure they mix well into the rice and provide a pleasant texture.
Step 2
Heat a pan with a little cooking oil over medium heat. Add the diced vegetables and sauté until they become slightly translucent and tender.
Step 3
Once the vegetables are partially cooked, add the 150g of pre-cooked beef. Stir-fry everything together. If you have the pre-cooked beef mixture ready, this step becomes very convenient! (You can find the recipe for the pre-cooked beef at @6947579.)
Step 4
If you haven’t prepared the ‘Pre-cooked Beef’ beforehand, you’ll need to cook it separately. First, stir-fry the ground beef until cooked through, then add the diced vegetables and sauté them together. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
Step 5
Take 1.5 bowls of warm cooked rice. Add the sautéed beef and vegetable mixture to the rice. Sprinkle in 1 tsp of salt, a pinch of black pepper, and drizzle with 1 tsp of sesame oil for extra flavor. Mix everything thoroughly with a spatula or spoon until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Step 6
For the seaweed coating, place the seaweed sheets in a plastic bag and finely crumble them. Alternatively, you can use gloved hands to gently rub and break them apart. Then, place a portion of the rice mixture into the bag with the crumbled seaweed. Gently shake or roll the rice ball to coat it evenly with the seaweed. This method prevents the seaweed from scattering.
Step 7
Shape the rice mixture into bite-sized balls. Arrange them nicely on a plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for an appealing finish. Enjoy your delicious homemade picnic rice balls!
