Ingredients
  • 1 carton (approx. 30) fresh eggs
  • 3 Tbsp coarse sea salt
  • 500ml water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, take out all the eggs from the carton and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. For an extra clean, add about 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the water while washing. This helps to remove any subtle surface impurities. Gently pat them dry afterwards.

Step 2

In a measuring cup or pot, combine 500ml of water with 3 tablespoons of coarse sea salt and stir well to dissolve, creating a saltwater solution. Using sea salt helps eliminate any eggy smell and enhances the rich flavor of the boiled eggs.

Step 3

Carefully pour the prepared saltwater into the bottom of the Instant Pot inner pot. This step prevents the eggs from direct contact with the pot’s base and aids in distributing heat evenly during pressure cooking.

Step 4

Gently place all the washed eggs into the inner pot. Be careful not to let them bump into each other and crack. If you have a steam rack, it’s a good idea to use it to keep the eggs elevated.

Step 5

Close the Instant Pot lid securely. Select the ‘Steam’ function and set the timer for 60 minutes. After the initial cooking, if the eggs don’t seem fully cooked to your liking, add an additional 30 minutes for a total of 90 minutes. (Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your Instant Pot model and the number of eggs.)

Step 6

Once the total 90 minutes of cooking are complete, allow the pressure to release naturally or use the quick release method as per your pot’s instructions. Then, open the lid. You’ll notice that the cracks in some eggs reveal the beautiful, appetizing brown hue characteristic of perfectly boiled eggs. Doesn’t that look delicious?

Step 7

The cooked boiled eggs are ready to eat, but for an even chewier texture and deeper flavor, let them cool completely. While they are tasty warm, they become delightfully firm and chewy as they cool down. Store the cooled boiled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for consumption over several days.
