Ingredients

  • 250g Spaghetti
  • 300g Penne and Macaroni (use any variety you have on hand)
  • 1.5 bottles Rosé Spaghetti Sauce (store-bought)

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp Salt (for boiling pasta)
  • 2-3 Tbsp Olive Oil (for sautéing pasta)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your penne and macaroni. There are many types of penne available, so feel free to use whatever variety you have at home.

Step 1

Step 2

Have your store-bought rosé spaghetti sauce and spaghetti ready. The amount of sauce can be adjusted later to your preference.

Step 2

Step 3

In a large pot, bring plenty of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water. This seasons the pasta as it cooks and helps create a firmer texture.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water is boiling, add the penne and macaroni first. Stir gently once or twice to prevent them from sticking together.

Step 4

Step 5

About 1 minute after adding the penne and macaroni, add the spaghetti. Stir occasionally to prevent the strands from clumping, and cook for a total of 6 minutes.

Step 5

Step 6

While the pasta is cooking, reserve about 2 cups (using a paper cup as a measure) of the starchy pasta water. This water will be used to adjust the sauce consistency later.

Step 6

Step 7

Drain the penne and spaghetti using a colander after they have cooked for a total of 7-8 minutes. It’s best to drain them when the penne is still slightly firm to the bite (al dente) – you should feel a slight resistance. Absolutely do not rinse the pasta with cold water, as this will make it mushy and prevent it from absorbing the sauce properly.

Step 7

Step 8

Transfer the drained pasta to a pan and add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Sauté the pasta for about 30 seconds, stirring to coat each strand. Then, pour in 1.5 bottles of rosé spaghetti sauce and mix well. Add the reserved 2 cups of pasta water and stir continuously over medium heat for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the pasta beautifully. This completes your delicious rosé spaghetti! Tip: If you prefer a richer sauce, start with 1 bottle of sauce, cook it, taste, and add more if desired. We added a bit more sauce for a richer flavor.

Step 8

Step 9

Your unique spaghetti is ready! The combination of penne and macaroni offers a delightful texture and makes it fun to pick out your favorite pasta shapes. For an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese or dried parsley flakes before serving.
