Cooking Instructions
Step 1
These days, boneless fish products like these are widely available, making them super easy to prepare at home. You can even choose the weight when you order, ensuring freshness!
Step 2
1. Gently rinse the sea bass fillets under cold water to thaw. 2. Take out 2-3 pieces of the prepared sea bass fillets. 3. Sprinkle with black pepper, a little oil (optional), and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. 4. Place in an air fryer and cook at 200°C (390°F) for 20 minutes. The fish will become wonderfully tender and moist.
Step 3
5. Prepare the daikon radish: wash and cut into two thick pieces, about 2cm each. Slice the garlic thinly or mince it. Slice the chili pepper diagonally (remove seeds if desired). Cut the scallions into large pieces and julienne the onion.
Step 4
6. Heat a little oil in a pot and sauté the julienned onion, minced garlic, and scallions until fragrant. 7. Cut the daikon radish into two thick pieces, about 2cm thick each.
Step 5
8. Add 200ml of water to the pot with the sautéed vegetables. 9. Whisk together the red pepper flakes (2 Tbsp), oyster sauce (1 Tbsp), soy sauce (2 Tbsp), and oligodang (1 Tbsp) to create the braising sauce. 10. Add the prepared daikon radish pieces and sliced chili pepper to the pot. Cover and simmer over high heat for about 15 minutes to allow the daikon to soften. (This step ensures the radish is partially cooked before adding the cola).
Step 6
11. Once the daikon has softened slightly, pour in the 200ml of cola. Continue to simmer uncovered over medium-low heat until the sauce has reduced to your desired consistency. You’ll achieve a deliciously spicy yet sweet autumn daikon radish dish!
Step 7
12. As the sauce thickens, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add more sweetness or saltiness according to your preference.
Step 8
13. To enhance the smoky flavor of the cooked sea bass, you can use a kitchen torch to lightly sear the surface for a grilled effect. This step is optional and can be skipped.
Step 9
Arrange the beautifully cooked sea bass fillet on your serving plate.
Step 10
13. Place the well-braised autumn daikon radish in cola next to the sea bass. Garnish with a drizzle of lemon juice and fresh chives for a vibrant presentation. Feel free to decorate with your desired plating style! Your healthy and delicious diet meal, Pan-Seared Sea Bass Fillet & Braised Daikon Radish in Cola, is complete!
