  • Servings : 4 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 60 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Main Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 head of cabbage
  • 4 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 8 Tbsp corn kernels (drained)
  • A little cooking oil
  • A little salt
  • A little butter

Sauce Ingredients

  • 10 Tbsp ketchup
  • 10 Tbsp mustard

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the cabbage thoroughly and shred it as thinly as possible. Peel the onion and slice it as thinly as possible, keeping its round shape. The thinner the slices, the softer the texture.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat a frying pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, place two slices of bread at a time and toast them until golden brown on both sides. Once toasted, remove the bread and spread a generous amount of mayonnaise. Use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly across the bread surface so the sauce soaks in well, making it even more delicious. Be sure to spread the mayonnaise on only one side of the bread where you’ll be placing the vegetables.

Step 2

Step 3

On the mayonnaise-spread side of the bread, place a moderate amount of shredded cabbage. Then, drizzle ketchup and mustard over it. Don’t pile on too much cabbage just yet – we’ll add more later!

Step 3

Step 4

Spread the thinly sliced onion evenly over the cabbage. The onion acts as a pickle substitute, and placing it in the middle prevents the sandwich from feeling too greasy and adds a delicious flavor.

Step 4

Step 5

Now it’s time to add more cabbage. This time, pile it on much more generously than before – as much as you possibly can! For the abundant cabbage, also generously drizzle extra ketchup and mustard to enhance the flavor.

Step 5

Step 6

In a cup, crack one egg, add 2 tablespoons of drained corn kernels, and a pinch of salt. Whisk everything together thoroughly. We are making this one serving at a time. Ensure the egg and corn are well combined.

Step 6

Step 7

Lightly grease a non-stick pan with cooking oil and preheat over medium-low heat. Pour about one cup of the egg mixture into the pan, shaping it to fit the size of the bread. Cook until golden brown on both sides, being careful not to burn the egg.

Step 7

Step 8

Carefully place the well-cooked egg patty on top of the bread piled high with cabbage and sauces. The egg provides a sturdy base, helping to hold the generously piled cabbage in place and giving the sandwich structure.

Step 8

Step 9

Place one slice of cheese on top of the egg patty. The warmth of the egg will slightly melt the cheese, making the sandwich even more delicious. The soft, melted cheese is truly wonderful.

Step 9

Step 10

Cover with the remaining slice of bread. Neatly trim the crusts off the sandwich, then cut it diagonally into servings for a beautiful and satisfying meal!

Step 10
